Day Eight and Nine
Still going strong! So these past few days have been fun exciting and well everything. I finally started Work It seems like an eternity but it finally happened. I will get to that later. this chapter looks kind of boring but essentially all parts are important in the overall plot of things. So a week has passed and its back to the beginning Back to Honolulu and then to Maui and then the Big Island . But over these past few days I had to sit though meetings of varying lengths on topics of ordinary variety, Sex, Drugs, Safety, Policy Really common sense kinda stuff. So with that it finally was time for me to start work. We met in the chefs office after one of these long meetings and were assigned to our jobs. Kenny got production, Jeff works Aloha CafĂ©, Eric work Crew Mess, and I work the Bake shop. I am really excited to be placed here because its something I really have never played with too much. I have made pizza dough, and varying other things but never at this level and quantity. Some things do come in frozen and pre made but that is the way of the beast. We do not make the little breakfast treats either but it would be crazy to do it every evening. Like way Crazy. I have made muffins, 24 dozen a day. I help scale dough and eventually with begin to make the dough but that is a ways off. The people of the bake shop are kinda weird but mostly nice folks. One is from the Philippines another from Chicago, and one from New Mexico so its geographically interesting at best. My days have been starting around 10 and lasting till 7ish give or take a few minutes. Its hot and rapid work and never a dull moment, so its good for that I must say. We usually go underway at about 6 so its not too bad I don’t really have to work when we are traveling. Its hard to enjoy Hawaii when you have to work during the only available hours of exploration. I do think im slightly lucky in that I have good room mates. They are nice folks and seemingly trust worthy people. They have done this bit a few times and have helped me out when it comes to random questions I have. Talking with them and lots of other people it seems that this place is kind of a cesspool for bacteria of the pants variety.
